Pro's and Con's?
Both are about the same price.
Which is better?

it depends really... in that price range almost ALL the mics available are comparable in quality... they both have their own sound... the Rode will generally be a little more crisp and bright in the high end, it's built that way... the AT's tend to be a little "warmer" sounding, but not as bright... your voice is the ultimate factor between these two mics really...

lol@brandon dealing a ball of confusion
i dunno whic i would choose now to be honest... not a huge difference between em. Pick one and go with it... just make sure to accompany it with a decent mic pre.
Welcome to reality.
Hmm..
I was told that the at2020 is a USB mic whereas the Rode is not.
Is one going to cost more in the long run than the other?
i don't think the 2020 is a usb mic if it is it must be crap im not heavy into USB mics because their by no means industry standard so i haven't learned about them but they must have their own a to d converters which means its probably a crap a to d converter plus the phantom power needed to run a condenser will be drawn for your computer which affects your systems performance. but im sure its not a usb mic you would have to ask opey he know more about the digital realm of recording as for sounding warmer i can only really hear warmth in tube condensers the AT2020 has a flatter frequency response than NT1-A, the NT1-A has a boost a 2dB boost at 2KHz it's not too drastic and a 4 and 6 dB boost at 4k and 10k which im sure your voice won't produce its not out of the possibility.
Like Kris Said their is no sense in having a nice condenser and using a crappy mic pre Presonus has some nice pre amps for a decent price

What brandon was saying is that the next model up from the 2020 costs the same as the NT1a and he'd go with that one. Honestly, I'd get them both, try them both, and take one back. That's really the best way. But if you're looking at Chris' deal, just go with that. It's well worth the money. The difference wouldn't be serious enough to not go with the huge discount.
And stay away from USB mics unless you just want something super basic and have no aspirations to have a decent setup.
nt1a...at2020 is about half the price
at2035/3035 would be a direct comparison.
but yeah the rode

*sigh*
I was saying... nt1a vs at2020... for about the same price as they are in this situation... I'd go with the nt1a...
HOWEVER... if they were actual price as they are new... and you were comparing the nt1a vs at2035 or 3035... I'd go with one of the AT's... feel me? I know how much they are lol
